List of participants of the Warsaw Book Fair is still growing!
We are constantly expanding the list of participants in Warsaw Book Fair. In addition to companies that have already participated in the first edition of the event - still new ones appear. Exhibition space in the halls of the Palace of Culture and Science on the ground floor is now fully occupied, the place remained only on the lobbies of the Congress Hall. Many publishers have significantly increased the surface of stands in comparison to last year. Among them are FK Olesiejuk, Świat Książki, Prószyński i S-ka, and antiquarian booksellers.
Meeting with Cultural Institutes
On Friday, Feb. 4, in the seat of the Danish Cultural Institute held a meeting of members of the European Union National Institutes for Culture EUNIC Warsaw Cluster with representatives of the Warsaw Book Fair - including Rafał Skąpski – Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Targi Książki Ltd and Jacek Oryl – President of Murator EXPO Ltd. The meeting served to presentation of the project ‘Island of Cultures’ (in the Warsaw Book Fair), formed with the aim of an attractive formula of participation of foreign institutes and cultural centers in the event.
Exclusive media patronage of titles: Biblioteka Analiz and Portal Księgarski
Warsaw Book Fair will be the only fair held in Warsaw, launched under the media patronage of the magazines of Biblioteka Analiz: „Magazyn Literacki KSIAŻKI”, „Biblioteka Analiz”, „Wiadomości Księgarskie”, „Notes Wydawniczy” and www.rynek-ksiazki.pl. On a similar basis Warsaw Book Fair will continue last year started cooperation with Portal Księgarski www.ksiazka.net.pl.
Program of events on Warsaw Book Fair
Program of events surrounding the Warsaw Book Fair every day is richer with new points. One of the most important parts of it are awards.
Awards and prizes on the WTK 2011:
Within the Warsaw Book Fair will take place important events of publishing and printing industry. In the evening, Friday, May 13th Ryszard Kapuściński Prize for literary reportage will be awarded, which is organized by the City of Warsaw in cooperation with the daily Gazeta Wyborcza. May 14, on Saturday, the Polish Chamber of Printing will hold its annual ball, where the gala will be held and the competition for the Golden Griffin Award for the highest quality printing product.
New Technologies Sector
For the visitors comfort, on the second Warsaw Book Fair will be a separate special sector - the sector of New Technologies. On the second floor of Palace of Culture and Science exhibitors presenting audiobooks, e-book readers, offering services in this area will be gathered in one hall. In addition, in this hall will be a demonstration area for direct presentation and promotion of products.
Children’s Literature Sector
Warsaw Book Fair in a special way prepare for a visit to the youngest readers. With a view to preparing a number of attractions for children and unprecedented innovation on the Polish trade fairs.
Among the new:
Promotion in kindergartens and schools - especially for publishers of children's books
Events prepared for the youngest readers, held on the WTK will be specifically promoted in schools and kindergartens, by direct approach to these educational institutions with invitations for specific meetings with authors.
After receiving a notification from the publisher - the author's name, date and time of the meeting - will be provided a specific audience for such a meeting. Earlier declared kindergarten groups and school classes will come for set time and the selected meeting.
